BioCurious is , a 2,500-square-foot community lab in a low-slung office building in Sunnyvale, that opened in November as a place where scientists, entrepreneurs and others can meet to conduct biology experiments and innovate on everything from bacteria to thermal cyclers. The facility also offers classes on topics ranging from DNA sequencing to microfluidics. The organization was started via Kickstarter crowd financing.

Currently BioCurious offers:
- a complete working laboratory and technical library
- for entrepreneurs to cheaply access
- equipment, materials, and co-working space
- a training center for biotechniques, with an emphasis on safety
- a meeting place for citizen scientists, hobbyists,
- activists, and students
